Beach Cities Vein & Laser Center is located in El Segundo, CA, which is roughly 19 miles southwest of Los Angeles. It is led by Dr. Mark Rayman, an interventional radiologist and renowned Los Angeles vein doctor. As such, he specializes in various minimally-invasive procedures.
Dr. Rayman is a native of southern California and earned his medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He then served a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and completed a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at UCLA. He has earned board certification from the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and two certifications in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Rayman then joined Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles. As the first fellowship trained interventional radiologist to join Kaiser, he help to build a very successful and busy practice. During that time he took a special interest in the treatment of varicose veins, and was the first to perform new varicose vein procedures such endovenous laser ablation, mechanic-pharmaceutical ablation, and ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy.
What is Interventional Radiology?
Interventional radiology is a sub-specialty of diagnostic radiology. An interventional radiologist uses imaging technology and minimally-invasive procedures to diagnose and treat diseases almost anywhere within the body. Interventional radiologists perform minimally-invasive procedures instead of open surgery, resulting in less discomfort and risk for the patient, as well as shorter recovery times.
Many of the procedures performed in interventional radiology involve maneuvering a catheter through the patient’s veins to the treatment area. At Beach Cities Vein & Laser Center, our Los Angeles vein doctor most often uses ultrasound to provide the needed guidance during procedures.

What are Venous Ulcers?
Venous ulcers, also called venous stasis ulcers, are open sores that develop on the skin. They are most common around the ankles. They are symptoms of advanced vein trouble, especially venous insufficiency, a condition in which the blood fails to flow up the lower leg to the heart. If you are dealing with venous ulcers, our Los Angeles vein doctor can help you.
