Morpheus8 – Everyone is talking about it!
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 pairs microneedling with radiofrequency energy. The treatment creates tiny entry sites as heat energy is delivered to the deeper layers of the skin and subcutaneous fat. This stimulates new collagen growth, tightens the skin and remodels the underlying fat to morph the tissues into a more smooth and sleek appearance. It is safe for all skin types.Morpheus8 can be used on the face and body to treat:
- Visible signs of aging (fine lines, wrinkles, crepey skin)
- Scar tissue
- Cellulite
- Cystic acne
- Stretch marks
- Unwanted fat deposits
The Morpheus8 experience:
Morpheus8 is performed in the office. At Beach Cities Vein and Laser Center, we utilize a range of techniques to result in the very best patient experience. The treatment typically begins by applying some numbing cream or gel to the treatment area. Sometimes additional local anesthetic and Pronox (laughing gas with oxygen) is utilized to make the process easy.Once you are comfortably numb, the Morpheus8 treatment is performed. Tiny punctures are made in the skin by the handheld device as the skin is simultaneously heated. The handpiece is then moved over the skin as each area is treated. Sometimes multiple passes are used to achieve desired results. The entire treatment (depending upon the size of the area) lasts about an hour.
After Morpheus8 a skin barrier (such as Aquaphor or Bacitracin) is typically applied to the treatment area.
What to Expect After Morpheus8:
After Morpheus8 some redness and mild to moderate swelling of the skin is expected. Tiny grid marks may also be noticeable, which typically disappear within a few days on the face and after a week or two on the body. Bruising in certain areas (such as around the eyes and especially on treatment areas of the body) may occur but will resolve with time.
How much downtime is there after Morpheus8?
There is generally very little downtime after Morpheus8. Aside from resolving skin changes mentioned above, there are few restrictions on your activity. You should be able to return to work the day after treatment. Make-up can be applied beginning 48-72 hours after treatment. You should be able to resume your normal workout regimen within 72 hours of treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
In most cases a series of three Morpheus8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended. The results of each treatment builds on the last and leads to the highest patient satisfaction. Annual touch-up treatments are recommended to maintain results.
When will I see the results of my treatment?
While early results may be seen as soon as a few days after treatment, ultimate results are typically seen 1-3 months after your last treatment (as collagen formation stimulation and subdermal fat remodeling continues improves the results over time).
